Mad about Scrappin texture pack

I was so excited when Leanne told me I was getting the Mad about Scrappin Texture pack to have a play with and see what I could come up with. I had a great play, in the pack included sand paper, bottle lid, bubble wrap, gutter guard, a little sponge, and some other bits and bobs. I loved playing and being challenge by all the bits in the pack. Go to the Mad about Scrappin facebook page for flog it friday and you purchase a pack there. Here are some of my layouts that I did

Here is a close up of my handmade embellishmetns. I love doing these lollipop flowers when I don't have the right colour embellishments. For those of you who don't know how to make them, you just cut paper into different size circles, scrunch them up, ink the edges, flatten them out and then glue them in a stack. Place a button in the middle and you have your lollipop flower

I loved this phot of Jordan. We were at a friends, and there daughter who is the same age as Jordan had a pink wig, so him being the clown he is put it on. I thought he actually looked quite cute considering he is a boy. The pink kind of suits him. LOL (don't tell him I said that)

Loved using all these things, I had so much fun, and made me think outside the square for my layouts. Loved the bright colours, but I think I have exhausted my stash of girl photos. LOL better have some friends over and take some photos. MMmm or invite my niece up so I can take photos of her.

Purple Pumpkin Sketch Challenge

I have done the Purple Pumpkin sketch for this month, geez am I on a roll or what???
I have used a template and used spritz on the backing paper and then did my layout over it. Love the shade it has given the pink paper. I loved the Purple Pumpkin embellishments which I thought were very fitting for this layout. Loved this sketch, simple but effective. It was also so nice to get to scrap my niece, and use girly type papers.

Limited Edition Layout

Now that my eldest son is getting that little bit older, I find it hard to get papers that really suit the colours that he tends to wear. So I love this paper, I also used a template and used spritz's to add a bit of dimension on the backing paper. I also love this layout as I have used my scraps to do it, which love using every bit of a range.

Love this photo of my son. We went to Perth, and I decided to get photo happy at the Park. I hadn't taken recent photos because I felt like alot of the photos I was taking were posed just so I had some new photos to scrap (you can tell I am addicted) so I was so excited to have a reason to take photos and more 'natural' photos.

Come and join me in a little Scrapping

Well as you may have noticed with my links down the side, I lost my son Harrison only after 28 hours of giving birth to him. He sadly lost his fight for life to a condition called Congenital Diapghragmatic Hernia. In his memory I have now started up a not for profit organistion, I have a couple of passions that I am working on. One is we scrapbook 6x6 layouts and donate them in a beautiful album to families who tragically lose a baby. Another one of my passions is that we are launching our practical support for families who have a high risk Pregnancy or have been diagnosed with a cogenital abnormality in pregnancy. So as a fundraiser we do a scrapbooking day, people can come along and scrap and have a great time together, by doing this you help us raise much needed funds for us to continue the work that we do and have planned for the future. If you are interested in coming please email me on melanie@harrisonslittlewings.org.au The cost is $25, it is being held at City Church, the corner of Kingston Rd and Queens Rd Kingston. We start at 9am and go to 5pm, lunch is included. All tickets must be purchased before the big day which is the 21st of April.

I really believe us women should ban together with this cause, it sadens me so much that Baby loss is such a taboo subject and nobody wants to talk about it and if it is brought up in a conversation it is very few people want to continue that conversation. Help us to ban together to smash this taboo.

Sent with Love Layout

I really love this paper range, I have gotten soooooo many layouts out of it, I decided I wanted to use my scraps and use every little bit of the paper. I am usually not a minimilist scrapper but really admire scrappers that are good at it and can pull it off. I decided to venture and use the spritz. LOOOOOOOOVE them. I love that you can dress cardstock up so much and make a blank space look flattering.

I really love the photo, it is of my niece and my 2 sons Jordan and Cody. I titled this layout Sent with Love as my niece was visiting, so I felt like she was sent up to give us some love. I had so much fun with her. I love my boys, but it was so nice to have a girl in the house and talk about girly things.

Ohhh love this challenge......

Well I have had an awesome weekend, what have I been doing you ask?????? Well I have been SCRAPPIMG of course, with one of my best friends, Sam. Love scrapping with her, we have a girl weekend where we have no children and it is all about us eating lots of naughty stuff and scrapping away, and having loads of laughs. Just before I went Mad about Scrappin released there monthly challenge which was to use

  • Kraft paper
  • Raw chipboard
  • 2 x pattern papers
  • Book paper
I so loved this challenge, how different is that. So why I was away this is the layout that I came up with using that challenge.

My eldest son has a reading addiction and reads sooooooooooooooooooooooo many books. I can't keep up with it. Him and I got in and did a bit of a spring clean in his room not long after Christmas and I thought it would be a great idea to take a photo of his book case with his favourtie books. All I can say thank goodness for the Library or I would be broke. Though it is one thing I do love about him. Can you believe it, it is something the teachers actually complain about Donovan is that he reads to much. Lol. (I think I must be doing ok if that is what he is getting in trouble about) Loved using lots of different things on the page. I find it sometimes hard to use raw chipboard, I think you really have to have the right pattern paper and I thought I had found the perfect paper for raw chipboard, but also for the book photo.

ScrapLounge March Layouts

This month for the month of March on the scraplounge we are doing a sketch, which is my layout below. The kit this month is provided by the wonderful Fancy that scrapbooking I received the Kaisercraft 'on the move' range. I really love Kaisercraft and all the embellishments that go with the range.

This is my technique layout, the technique for this month is stamping and printing. I decided to paint my background of my craft paper then stamp with the Kaisercraft bubble wrap stamp. I also read in the Scrapbooking Memories magazing how you can use masking tape to print on, so I decided to give it a go and print on the masking tape. It is really easy, the most difficult part is to make sure you don't have your edges of your masking tape where it prints on. All you have to do is type what you want, print it out on your printer, then put sticky tape (the large tape is the best) over the printing then stick the masking tape on top of the clear tape, this allows you to easily remove the masking tape from the paper. Then thread it back through the printer. Just make sure you know which side your paper faces to be printed on. I love it, just a bit of a different element on your page.

Well I am off this weekend to do some scrapping at my friends place, can't wait. We both won't have children just a nice little scrapbooking weekend, so I am hoping I will come home with lots of new layouts to share.
